In addition to the shells, the beach brings these beautiful little birds that dance along the surf. I love to watch Sanderlings graceful movements as they run on the beach looking for food. They are simply fun to watch and will bring a smile to your face.
This fine art print is perfect for your cottage by the ocean, even if the ocean part is only in your imagination.
On warmth, calm day as I walked the Indian Neck Beach on Wellfleet, I saw a flock of Sanderling huddled among the beach rocks. The Sanderling Sandpiper is rusty brown when breeding, and turn pale gray in winter. These birds were very peaceful, a feeling I hope it continues to impart.
Invite incredible outside world inside your home. Hang those two paintings together in blue gray wall bedroom to set a calm and soothing mood, that’s what your bedroom needs!
I like to call paintings like this my therapeutic paintings. After I’ve completed a complicated composition, difficult peace, a painting like Piping Plover portraiture helps me loosen up. I like mixing watercolor with casein paint. It allows me to create more details in a subject. This cute little fluff ball- Piping Plover is endangered bird and only a few hundred exist, was lucky to spot one last summer on the Nauset beach.
All shorebird's watercolor paintings available as framed prints, canvas prints and more
